The order's real justification is a documented safety failure: a model that hacked its way to cheat on a benchmark. The extinction talk stapled on top is doing work the facts don't need it to do.

- The "164 million people in 72 hours" reach figure for Coxon's post is repeated across secondary coverage; I could not verify the underlying platform analytics directly, so it is labeled "reportedly" in the piece.
- Evan Hubinger's ">10% chance of extinction within a decade" is explicitly his own personal estimate, not an Anthropic company position — labeled as such.
- Burry's Sept. 14 remarks verified via multiple financial outlets quoting his X/Substack post identically; did not access the original post directly.
- Trump's quoted phrases ("SICK conspiracy," "HOAX") are quoted identically across CBS, NBC, Al Jazeera and Forbes — treated as reliable given cross-outlet consistency.
